DESCRIPTION:Saxophonist and flutist Mark Lewis has enlivened jazz scenes from Seattle and San Francisco to Rotterdam and Paris\, and has created a vast and intensely stimulating body of music over the past four decades\, including more than 1\,700 compositions. Seattle music writer Paul de Barros calls Lewis “A distinctive original” and Earshot jazz sums up his sound: “Inspiring and fervent\, saxophonist and flutist Mark Lewis shines with his impeccable\, lyrical and emotive tone reminiscent of Art Pepper or Paul Desmond.”  \nRecent awards include Cadence Magazine Top Ten Critics Poll for 2021 for his album Naked Animals\, and #2 on alto sax (after Richie Cole) and #3 on flute (after Charles Lloyd and Hubert Laws) in the 39th Annual Jazz Station Awards for his album The New York Session\, a collaboration with piano legend George Cables\, bassist Essiet Essiet\, and drummer Victor Lewis.  \nRotterdam\, the Netherlands was Mark’s home base for many years. He toured and played in the better clubs throughout Europe\, and taught jazz theory and improvised music classes in several music conservatories. DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening of alfresco dining in the vineyards of Olalla Winery.  In our ongoing efforts to promote agritourism and sustain our agricultural industry\, we will start with a walk through the vineyard with our first glass of wine and passed appetizers to educate guests on what happens in the vineyard during the different seasons (please wear appropriate footwear).  Then\, we will take a tour of the winery and showcase our “clay amphorae” used in the primary fermentation process of making wine.  Clay amphorae were used thousands of years ago and still prove to be a game changer in winemaking.  Finally\, we will proceed to the back vineyard for the rest of the wine-paired dinner. \nThe meal will be composed of locally grown & seasonal foods prepared and presented by Chef Lora of LeGarmache Catering in Port Orchard. \nEach course will be paired with an Olalla wine\, all to be enjoyed amongst the grapevines with breathtaking views of our vines during sunset. \n$165.00 per person (plus 9.2% sales tax)\nIncludes:  appetizer reception\, tour of the vineyard\, three-course dinner\, paired wines and gratuity \nSpace is limited \n*In case of rain\, the area will be tented. \n*Dietary Issues: Please contact us at least 72 hours before dinner at info@olallawines.com \n*Cancellation policy:  50% refund up until 4 days prior to event (September 9th)\, no refunds after September 10th.
