DESCRIPTION:Friday Night Music at Kimball Coffeehouse in association with the South Sound Blues Assocation Presents:JOEL ASTLEY BANDSince forming his first band in 2014\, he has built a reputation as a world class frontman\, harmonica player\, singer\, songwriter and bandleader\, and has collected over 18 Washington Blues Society’s “Best of the Blues” Awards in just a few years.Joel signed with Blue Heart Records and in 2024\, and is also a featured artist with Lee Oskar Harmonicas. His first album “Seattle to Greaseland” is receiving much acclaim\, garnering rave reviews from blues music critics worldwide. It debuted (August 18\, 2023) at Number 7 on the Billboard Blues chart\, and has received a Silver Medal from the Global Music Awards.Joel Astley is on multiple recordings\, has been featured on radio\, podcasts and television\, and he can be seen performing live with his band year-round. Joel and his band picked up four more awards last Sunday at the 2025 WBS Best of the Blues Awards. They have also been touring extensively across the US\, particularly the left coast.Don’t miss this exciting and dynamic band — they are up and coming in the Blues music scene and soon it might be impossible to see them at a ‘no cover’ venue.An interesting side note: Joel Astley came to music after many years working in the visual arts.
