 Invitation Bookshop

RSVP REQUIRED.

Invitation Bookshop welcomes Aidan Key, founder of Gender Diversity and TransFamilies, in conversation with Ren Cedar Fuller, a parent facilitator at TransFamilies, a national organization that provides support and resources for families raising gender diverse children.

A few weeks after the inauguration, Ren called Aidan to say she was scared to bring her book about parenting a trans child into the world. Aidan said now is the time to share our hard but joy-filled stories about people who live outside society’s narrow boxes.

Aidan’s most recent book, Trans Children in Today’s Schools (Oxford 2023), demystifies the often volatile, polarizing debates surrounding the support and inclusion of trans and nonbinary children.

Ren’s debut book, Bigger: Essays (Autumn House Press 2025), explores how her world expanded because of her father’s neurodiversity, her child coming out as transgender, a disability that left her unable to cry, and her immigrant mother’s Alzheimer’s—which seemed to magically carry her back to childhood in Ecuador.

Kindly RSVP below, as space is limited.
